About Us Mustard Sandwich Bar
Founded in 1988 as Il Furnar (The Baker), Mustard began as a wholesale bakery supplying restaurants and pubs across London. As demand grew, the business naturally evolved, becoming a go-to breakfast and lunch spot for both locals and visitors passing through Southwark.
In 2008, the bakery was rebranded as Mustard, cementing its place as a community favourite. Today, Mustard continues to serve high-quality sandwiches, salads, and fresh meals while also catering to local offices with corporate breakfast and lunch deliveries. It’s no surprise that at lunchtime, you'll often find a queue of regulars stretching out the door!
Fun Fact: The famous Walkers “Sandwich Man’ advert, featuring Gary Lineker and Paddy McGuinness serving crisp sandwiches, was filmed at Mustard!
Building on its success, The Fruit Tree opened in 2014 on Great Suffolk Street. What started as an extension of Mustard has since become a popular burrito and focaccia bar, known for it’s corporate fruit basket delivery service.
Most recently, in 2023, we expanded again with the opening of Mary and Me, located on Blackfriars Road. Named after our founder, this latest venture offers exceptional coffee, fresh salads, pasta, and artisanal focaccia sandwiches, continuing our tradition of serving quality food with a personal touch.Mustard Team Mustard Sandwich Bar | Fresh, handcrafted sandwiches daily!109 Great Suffolk Street, SE1 1PQ️ 020 7378 0484 | [email protected] www.mustardsandwichbar.co.uk Follow us on Instagram: @mustardsandwich.london
